Moriyama Teshima was awarded the Gordie Howe International Bridge project as part of Bridging North America – in partnership with ACS Infrastructure, Fluor Corporation, and Dragados Canada. The new Windsor-Detroit bridge, which will include Canadian and US Ports of Entry, is set to officially begin construction later this year. As a part of the Canadian Port of Entry design team, I was responsible for creating BIM models, presentations and design documents, coordinating with various disciplines in the BIM360 environment, and assisting team members with design and BIM related issues. Being the largest P3 project in North America, a large, highly skilled team of architects and engineers are involved in this project. I was able to learn, understand and contribute to an advanced and efficient way of project delivery, which is now the new standard in the AEC industry.
